Welcome to Threadlines
Welcome back to Threadlines, our monthly celebration of the extraordinary individuals who bring Mansawear to life. This month, we honor one of Mansawear’s originals—Dianne Neufville—a dear friend, early supporter, and one of the brand’s very first customers.

How We Met
Dianne and I met in 2000 at Eastman Kodak Company, both newly minted MBAs. I was instantly drawn to her voice—melodic, soft, yet commanding. I knew I had to meet the person behind it, and from that moment, a lasting friendship began. Over the years, our lives evolved in parallel as we built our careers and raised our families around the same time.

An Early Mansawear Muse
Dianne was among Mansawear’s earliest supporters, well before the brand had a brick-and-mortar presence. Her first piece—a skirt ensemble—was created for the annual Rochester Jamaican Organization (RJO) gala. Her growing Mansawear collection later became part of my early marketing research during Rochester Fashion Week in 2012 at the Memorial Art Gallery.

Career in Insight and Impact
A trained market researcher, Dianne began her career in Jamaica’s leading food distribution company before joining Kodak, where she led several impactful research projects at Kodak, including branding, sponsorship and online digital services. She later transitioned into nonprofit health administration, continuing her work at the intersection of data, community, and impact.

Family, Balance, and Dedication
Dianne and her husband Merrick are proud parents of two children, Jade and Julian. Jade, a contemporary of my daughter Mansa, is now a mechanical engineer in Houston, while Julian works with a local federal contractor. As dedicated soccer parents, Dianne and Merrick spent years traveling multiple times a week for tournaments, supporting their children’s passions. Despite their busy schedule, Dianne always made it a priority to return to Jamaica at least twice a year to visit her parents.

Community Leadership and Legacy
Dianne is a founding member and pillar of the Rochester Jamaican Organization (RJO), which is committed to improving the lives of Jamaicans living in Rochester and Jamaica through its own capacity building and collaboration with U.S. and Jamaican-based organizations. The organization’s work spans education, health awareness, social support, and economic empowerment for communities in both Rochester and Jamaica. Most recently, she and her organization helped raise $97,000 for victims of Hurricane Melissa in 2025.
