Welcome to Threadlines, our monthly blog celebrating and spotlighting our ardent fans. In November, we celebrate Marj Crum, professor and student advocate extraordinaire at Monroe Community College.
She is one of the most dedicated and conscientious educators with whom I have had the great fortune to work professionally, and now we are continuing our relationship personally in a myriad of ways.
I met Marj as an applicant in Monroe Community College’s (MCC) Launch Your Business! Competition in 2019. She was one of the MCC advisors for the program, and her commitment to ensuring that each selected candidate succeeds was readily apparent. She ensured that the mechanics of our PowerPoint presentation were perfect and coached us on our individual pitch delivery.
Since then, our relationship has strengthened. Her desire to promote transparency, accountability, and mutual respect was evident when I worked with her Graphic Design II class. During the 2021/2022 academic year, I collaborated with her students in producing advertising materials for Mansawear. These perfect, ready-to-print design works saved me over $2,000 in graphic design fees.
Both on and off campus, Marj’s dedication to continuously learning from and educating her diverse student body, colleagues, and administrators is well documented.
Apart from being a wonderful Mansawear customer, Marj is incredibly generous with her time. She models for Mansawear during the prestigious annual Fashion Week Rochester and even hosted a Mansawear Fun Party, where she invited her friends, colleagues, and acquaintances to learn about the Mansawear story and design process.
All hail to The Prof In The House and her love for colorful, elegant and sophisticated fits. So grateful you are in the Mansawear orbit!
